My favourite piece of technology is not something electronic,
mechanical or very complex, it is very simple: The goalkeeper gloves. They were
created by soviet goalkeeper Lev Yashin (the best in his position in the
history of football) during their first years as football player, being the
first goalkeeper who weared that kind of gloves.

The reason why goalkeepers wear them is because they protect
the hands from injuries and also from extreme weathers, mainly cold ones (Lev
Yashin played his entire career in Soviet Union, where the temperatures are
usually under 0° C)
My father bought me my first gloves when I was a little kid.
Some years ago I bought a new pair of gloves that I used in the school. I still
use them when I play a match with my friends here in Santiago, or with my family
in Puerto Varas and Valdivia.
I like it because they allow me to play better and protect
me from injuries on my fingers (I like to play guitar, so I really need my
fingers…). My life wouldn’t be very different without goalkeeper gloves, just
would be a little bit harder to play football.
